Creative Wisdom
What is it and why do we need it now?
Creative: relating to or involving the imagination or original ideas, especially in the production of an artistic work
Wisdom: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise
Especially during a time when we are required to do things differently and to make decisions we never thought we would be faced with, it is essential to consult our own inner guidance. We can do this through the arts, by getting in touch with what we call our Creative Wisdom.
Using our imagination to activate our knowledge, experience, and good judgment is something we as humans are uniquely qualified to do. Using a simple practice and different arts modalities, we can discover new ways to live in the world, and to help others.
Expressive arts, integrated arts, intermodal or multi-modal arts.....whatever the words are that we use to describe this work, it is so much more than self-expression. It is a portal to our deepest inner knowing, and a pathway to activate that knowing in our lives, our choices, our actions.
It is not so much about deciphering the meaning of the image as much as engaging with the image as an alive and vital force, filled with possibility and guidance.
Whether the image is visual, movement, voice, rhythm, or written word, we learn to listen deeply, and to trust it as a resource, a guide, and a reflection of our inner strength and knowing.
Through this work, we are following a path to transforming our lives and communities.

Creative Wisdom:
Introductory Online Training in Expressive Arts
This self-study course is the pre-requisite to the core courses, and you can begin today.
This course deepened my understanding of the healing power of art through the use of intermodalities and the art of witnessing. These two concepts have changed the way I approach my own art as well the work I do with students. I am a better artist and practitioner today because of the truths I now embody.

Are you ready to dive in to the Certificate Training Program?
We are offering all of our core courses online in 2021
This was a big decision. Our experience so far has shown that it is indeed possible!
The course schedule from January to May is published now, and the dates of the remaining core courses will be out soon.
This does not mean we will not return to live, in-the-studio training when the time is right. When and how that will happen is still to be seen.
If you want to complete your Expressive Arts Certificate Training online,
2021 is the year to do it.
Having participated in the intensive in-person training and intensive online training with EAFI, I have found the experience to be of the highest quality in both formats. I am genuinely appreciative of Kathleen, Tamara, and Victoria for their
commitment to offering excellent programming in both venues.
