"Resonance comes from trust and from knowing that each person in the group will support every other to be authentically herself. There is a sense of wholeness, and a consciousness, that we are all one".
Natalie Rogers, The Creative Connection for Groups, 2011
Breathing colors,
Breathing Mother Earth,
Breathing myself back home to calm, home to center, home within.
It is my ever faithful purple spirit that has my back.
I need all these legs rooted in and growing from the lessons of Mother Earth.
Transforming what is old,
Fuelling what can be
Kindling a spark
Into a new world where mystery and familiarity dance together in a way that has never been seen before.
Jenny, Amy, Sue, Kathleen. Loving Witness Open Studio, 10-13-20
We gather, on Zoom. We check-in and state our intention. We listen to a Loving Witness meditation. Then we go to our supplies and our art-making for the next couple of hours. Some paint, some write, some go outside and take photos, some move....whatever the creative impulse is, we each follow it. After a
couple of hours, we come back together, to witness one another, read writings, and share. The threads of connection - to our deep self and to one another - are very real. he personal opens to the universal. If we create the space, it happens.
In the above example, we each selected the most powerful line of our writing, and read them aloud, in sequence. The group poem in what emerged.

Theme: The power of compassionate witnessing for self and others
The expressive arts process allows us to compassionately and powerfully witness our own experience and that of others. It is a mindfulness practice of deep listening, without interpretation or judgement. We invite you to experience the power of loving witnessing with us in this 5 hour training retreat.
- We will guide you through a deep, exploratory process of renewal and restoration through visual art, movement, sound, and writing. Along the way, you will learn to navigate the 5 steps of intermodal arts process.
- Connect with an expertly guided small group (4-5) and the larger group (up to 20) in our five hours together.
- Discover the power and wisdom of your own creativity, and learn how to access it and share with others.
- Inspired by, and adapted from the content of Creative Wisdom: Introductory Online Training in Expressive Arts. This retreat is a natural next step to bring you learning into a live, interactive format.
Creative Wisdom Online Training is exactly that. A collection of exercises and experiences which will spark and sustain creative ideas, as well as uncover wisdom which is innate. The combination of top-notch facilitators with participants who are deeply soulful and expressive makes this training absolutely essential. As a writer and a therapist, I received a ton of support and inspiration. (Becky B.)

Creative Wisdom is a truly excellent introduction to Intermodal Expressive Arts. I don't believe I have ever felt so well supported in a class, from the structure of the course, the sequence of the modules that build confidence and competence, the care taken by the instructors in every detail, and their willingness to offer themselves as guides and models for the work. Thank you EAFI! Katherine
