- Do you ever feel like you are doing your work all on your own?
- Do you have this passion that people around you don't share or understand?
- Do you have difficulty finding words for what you know to be true - that the arts help us to meet and address the enormous challenges of today's world?
IEATA provides a global container to nurture and support you.
Are you a member? If you are an Expressive Arts student or professional, or someone who has an interest in this field, we encourage you to join. There are several levels of membership, and lots of opportunity for participation.
IEATA is a vibrant, global non-profit, operated by dedicated volunteers. It guides, shapes, and sets standards for the field of Expressive Arts. IEATA just welcomed 11 new board members, from 5 countries, and the energy is potent. There are 58 countries represented in the IEATA membership!
Some recent highlights: The Membership and Regional committees host free monthly member forums, focusing on support during these challenging times, and practical applications from practitioners around the world. Our new Social Action Committee Co-Chairs - Manju Jain and Aslam Khader have been hosting daily silent vigils on racial injustice. Public Relations Co-Chair, Merav Berger, just published a beautiful newsletter that
includes articles, art, poetry, helpful resources, and notes from the field.
We are long-standing IEATA members, and Expressive Arts Florida Institute is an Organisational Member. Without the ongoing support of IEATA, - the conferences, the lifelong friendships, and the credentialing, we could not have accomplished what we have. We would love to welcome each of you. www.ieata.org

Entering the Dance Safely
with Markus Scott-Alexander, PhD, REAT
Wednesday Aug. 19, 6-8 pm ET
Live Online via Zoom
$50
Expressive arts work is usually quite gentle. We do not push or manipulate the process. We trust the process. Taking someone through an embodied, creative experience requires both inspiration and skill. In this master class, which is both theoretical and experiential, we will explore the phenomenon of “safely, entering the dance”. We start the process
with body awareness, which focuses on vertical presence. Then, we will progress to movement which takes us into the space, the horizontal plane. And thirdly, we move on to dance where we let go and explore. In this training, we learn how to move into the experience of letting go in a way that feels both safe and playful.
Markus Scott-Alexander, PhD is a pioneer in the field of expressive arts education. He recently released a new book entitled, Expressive Arts Education and Therapy: Discoveries in a Dance Theatre Lab Through Creative Process-based Research (available through Brill.com). Markus is the director
of World Arts Organization (www.worldartsorg.com) and is senior faculty at the European Graduate School.
Our Online Professional Development Series is designed for Expressive Arts students and practitioners (therapists, educators, facilitators, coaches, consultants). Through a live online format, we bring you renowned professionals in the field, from around the world, to enhance your training and expertise. Each presentation will be a combination of didactic and experiential learning. We are a Florida CEU provider for LMHC, LCSW, LMFT.
You will receive a Certificate of Completion to submit to your own CE Board or certifying body.
