INK & STRING SURREAL ART

A great opportunity to learn this engaging process, from wherever you are.
Using cotton string and permanent ink, we create random lines on paper. The randomness of the lines is very important, because we aren’t trying to create specific images at the early stage of the process. Next, we carefully examine the haphazard lines to look for hidden shapes and forms within the lines. These are developed into images using a very small brush and additional ink. When the ink is dry, the artwork is painted with
watercolor, allowing the ink lines to prominently show up in the painting.
Finally, a writing process of “story-telling” is used to explore the meaning and messages in the artwork. Ink and String art is exciting because it promotes creativity, taps into the unconscious and often tells a story that is both revealing and insightful. Judy Lyon

The desire to tell our stories has been part of the human experience since the beginning of time, in all cultures around the world. Writing can offer us a vehicle to better understand ourselves and each other, can empower us to find our voice, and can provide a transformative and healing experience. It is also an art form, and another medium to express ourselves creativity. Everyone is inherently a writer, and
everyone can use words to create art.
- Come create and share your stories in a safe and supportive environment.
- Each workshop will consist of:
- writing prompts
- time to write,
- the opportunity to share your work
- the opportunity to listen and respond to others’ stories.
- Sharing is always optional, and feedback is always positive.
No previous creative writing experience is necessary.

Learn what a spirit animal is, discover its characteristics, and welcome it into your presence through guided meditation, journaling, and discussion. Sketch, trace, or copy your animal, fish, bird, or insect onto your canvas, and paint.
No art experience needed. Donna will guide you step by step.
Come prepared to learn the identity and gifts of your Spirit Animal and how it might impact your life, along with a new way to approach painting.
This is for you if:
- you are a seasoned painter OR if you have never picked up a brush.
- you have always been curious about Expressive Arts or painting.
What you receive is a deeper relationship with aspects of your soul and a painting of one of you Spirit Animal guides.
What you will take away is a memory of an exciting, and perhaps new way to approach art-making from the inside out!
