The Mandala has been a guiding principle for me for much of my life. I create mandalas as a personal healing practice and a contemplative art form. As an expressive arts therapist, I have introduced many clients to
mandala-making to support their healing. As a workshop facilitator and educator in the expressive arts, I introduce the creation of mandalas as a means to connect to what I call our deepest creative wisdom.
In this online training I will share an overview of the mandala, and something of my own journey - beliefs, practices, and experience. We will touch on mandalas in nature, across cultural and spiritual traditions, mandalas for self-exploration and healing, and mandalas in community. I will then guide you in the creation of your own mandala, and I hope to inspire you to
explore mandalas further on your own – as a practice for centering, connecting with your own inner wisdom, and healing. And, if you are guiding others on their own healing journeys, I invite you to bring mandalas into your work. I hope you will join me online via Zoom on November 13.

Workshop Outline
- First hour: Learn about the mandala as a universal pattern – in nature, in ourselves, and in cultural and spiritual traditions around the world, and as a practice. Through a power point presentation and live talk, with beautiful images, Kathleen will lead you on a “tour”
of what the mandala is all about.
- Second hour: Engage in an experiential, interactive mandala making process under Kathleen’s gentle facilitation.
