As practitioners and educators it is easy, sometimes, to forget to focus on our own art-making!
We embrace the importance of a personal expressive arts practice as a necessary component of self-care, but actually getting finished paintings onto the wall can take a back seat when we are busy teaching and running a business!
When Donna Papenhausen
approached us about having an at exhibit at her church, we couldn't imagine how to fit that in to our already over-busy schedules. But instead, we decided to say yes to the opportunity! We are so glad we did, and we thank Donna for her encouragement!
Choosing some paintings - both recent and older - and hanging them together on one large wall, has been an interesting and gratifying experience. The three of us - Tamara, Kathleen, Victoria - are three very different people with a sustaining common vision that we have crafted together
over the last ten years. Our uniqueness and our commonality are both reflected in the exhibit.
We hope that you will stop by St. Andrew United Church of Christ today between 4 and 6 pm, for our
reception! You can see our individual work, and some collaborative mandalas that we have created over the years.
We will have some refreshments, and a little collaborative art-making, too.
