Dear Creative Friend, This week I (Tamara) am still noticing how recent shifts that took place in my practice are reverberating and rippling out. I have a felt sense of the dream and the blocks I embodied in the training with Anin Utigaard last week as well as an
expansive question of "what is calling me?" that I I experienced in another group a few days later. The shifts we experience by engaging the arts in intermodal process can be so profound. I notice that I continue to hear the voice of the images, movement, and sound explorations as I move about my day. They live within me and they resonate with changes outside of me. After a planning meeting for the next Imagining the Sacred session on June 17, I reflected on how what is living within me calls to
be expressed, to be met by something outside of me. Just like the title - Deep Calls to Deep. I love that. I love the feeling of knowing that what is happening within me precipitates changes around me. I feel connected to something greater than myself. In so many ways, expressive arts work is soul work. It is a way to navigate life that feels aligned, allowing access to inner wisdom and resonance with Spirit. It does not always feel deep, but it still touches me in ways that help me feel most
alive.
In a world with so much noise and complexity, expressive arts offers a way to return home to yourself, quiet the mind, and enter an expansive space of exploration. This feels sacred. It is the space where transformation is born. In my image's voice:
I can hold the stillness.
I can move in stillness. I can take in pulsing, rhythmic capillary action and transform it into streams of stillness. I can transform.
I can transmute. I can draw in and release. Be at the center, core to
the evolution and movement. I can be still in the movement. I can be AND flow. In AND out. I can fill AND empty. Through me is the transformation.
