We are excited to share Expressive Arts Florida Institute’s plans for 2026—a year that promises to be filled with diverse training opportunities, community connection, creative exploration, and professional growth. 

In 2026, we will offer an ‘a la carte’ menu of courses designed to support you at every stage of your expressive arts training journey. Whether you’re seeking professional registration with IEATA as a Registered Expressive Arts Therapist (REAT) or Registered Expressive Arts Facilitator (REACE), or simply exploring new avenues for personal or professional growth, our flexible offerings can help you create a pathway tailored to your goals.

Training Options & Highlights for 2026

In-Person & Online Courses: From immersive four-day retreats to short, inspiring workshops, our offerings are accessible in multiple formats.
Certificates of Completion: All courses provide certificates that can be applied toward REACE/REAT hours and CEU credits. We are an approved CEU provider for LCSW, LMFT, LMHC in Florida.

Expressive Arts as a Wisdom Path: A Journey of Creative Transformation
Spring 2026 | Live In-person, Sarasota, FL

Discover the transformative power of intermodal expressive arts as a wisdom path. This experiential, 25-hour training retreat guides you through our five-step model for connecting deeply with your creative wisdom, fostering meaningful shifts in your personal and professional life. Suitable for beginners and those seeking renewal or a new approach. Join us for a vibrant journey of collective creativity and insight.

Deep Roots, Radiant Branches: Nurturing the Soil of Your Creative Calling
Fall 2026 | Location TBA

Deep Roots, Radiant Branches is an immersive expressive arts intensive that invites you to explore the roots, pioneers, and evolving pathways of this vibrant field. Through intermodal  practice—visual arts, movement, writing, drama, music, and more—you’ll discover your own foundations, illuminate your vision, and embody your unique path in the growing expressive arts community. For those with some prior Expressive Arts experience.

Creative Presence: Facilitating Expressive Arts with Individuals
Live Online  

Feb 6 and 20, 2026 

11 am - 4 pm

If you’ve trained in a group and wonder how to bring Expressive Arts practices into meaningful one-on-one sessions, this experiential course will give you the confidence and tools to facilitate intermodal expressive arts with individual clients. Cultivate safe, transformative, and deeply engaging experiential sessions. Elevate your facilitation skills with intentional, client-centered creative approaches.

10 hours

Specialized Trainings:
Throughout the year, Tamara, Kathleen, and our talented team—(including Julie Collura, Susan Paul Johnson, Renee Bhatia, and Heidi Heft LaPorte)—will be offering specialized topics such as Personal Practice for Ethics, Creative Parts Work: Internal Family Systems and Expressive Arts Therapy, Guided Meditation for Intermodal Practice, Expressive Arts in the Classroom, Strategic Business Planning: An Expressive Arts Approach, and more. Plus, we’ll welcome a series of renowned guest teachers to bring you fresh insights and expanded resources.

Also, coming up in January is Expressive Arts for Body/Mind/Spirit! We have taught this course many times, and it is a favorite. Engage with an exciting and potent array of individual and group processes, focusing on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual experience.  Appropriate for beginners and those seeking rejuvenation. January 13-16, 2026. Online. 25 hours.

Workshops

And in addition to our training, we will be offering a wide variety of workshops and community programs. Favorites such as SoulCollage®, Expressive Writing, Open Studio, Art as a Healing Practice, will continue. We’ll welcome guest presenters, and tap into our dynamic alumni community. Kathleen is developing a program on Expressive Arts and Aging, and our Mindful Art Play Membership remains a thriving part of our community.

We are busy assembling a full 2026 calendar designed to inspire, challenge, and grow with you.
