Hello Creative Friend, Â As I (Tamara) continue to integrate the experience of travel, learning, connecting, and all that we are collectively facing at the moment, I turn toward my creative practice. I review some of my own writing and images. It all feels like so much to reflect on. What I notice is that taking in new information and
experiences changes me. I grow and become because of my experiences. Sometimes this is difficult to articulate, so I make art. That's how I make sense of things. My intention to engage in art mindfully and playfully helps me to slow down, get focused and get in touch with my inner experience without an agenda or plan. Yesterday I sat down and painted colors on the page, let
them just fill the page in layers. I loved the process of painting watercolors in the water and seeing them spread across. I remembered how mountain ridges continue into the distance as I see the edges form. Then I traced them with my pen which always gives me joy for some reason! (I do not ask why, it doesn't matter - I just love it.) But then something happened that I did not expect. I experienced the impulse to cut my painting up into pieces and rearrange them. I had no idea how this would
go, but it felt very important to me. As I did this, I just followed the inner voice inside. Cut into different sizes and shapes. The pieces led the way. I saw them each as beautiful with their own patterns and lines. I wondered what would happen. I arranged them in a new way on a larger paper. Somehow, this process helped me. This is what it said:Â I need to shuffle the pieces. I am not the same as I was. I have expanded. I can see each part more clearly now. I can see the details that matter. I am in a new form
with spaces and special connections between unlikely edges. I invite you to understand the necessity for change as you separate things and then piece them together
again...
Part of my process has been welcoming people into the Mindful Art Play Members Club. We’re just a few days into the membership and I am already so inspired by the energy you’re bringing into this space. I
have loved hearing about everyone's accordion book experience! It is one of my favorite things to teach.  If you haven't joined yet, the very first month’s theme + practice is now waiting for you inside the membership portal. It includes:  🎥 A guided video tutorial đź“„ A downloadable PDF with materials, and ideas for deeper exploration 🎨 A discussion board to reflect, express, and return to yourself  Whether you’ve already carved out time to dive in—or you’re still waiting for the right moment—we want to remind you: There’s no rush. This space is here to support you, not pressure you.  Start when you’re ready. Come back as often as you’d like.  ✨ And don’t forget—the LIVE session is Monday, July 28th from 1-2:30pm ET. Â
For now, here’s your gentle nudge to: 🌀 Take a breath 🖌️ Pick up your materials đź’› And simply begin Â
