Dear Creative Friend, Have you ever traced the development of your own creativity? The steps on your unique unfolding creative
journey? How has your relationship with your creativity been shaped by your life experiences? Are there times when your creativity, or aspects of it, have 'gone underground' or become stagnant? What has helped your creativity flow, or blossom? In one of the Art as a Healing Practice modules, we consider these questions, and more, as we explore our 'creative steppingstones'. I see these as points on our creative journey, over our life. Starting with something from the natural world, we move in to
guided meditation, writing our creative steppingstones, an image of our creative journey, exploring and receiving a message to weave into our lives.
Try this: Get quiet and travel back in time. Feel into the development your relationship with your creativity. Be curious about events, experiences, relationships, realizations, moments in time that have shaped
your relationship with your creativity. Be curious about what in your life has challenged this relationship and what has enhanced or fostered it.Consider the idea of creative stepping stones. What are those events, people, situations, realizations, experiences that have influenced your creative development and your relationship with your creativity? List any creative stepping stones that come to mind. Take about 10 minutes, then make an image, and do a little writing. What did you
learn? Lesson 4 of Art as a Healing
Practice is entirely devoted to this theme, and you can expect to come away with a much clearer relationship with your own creative journey. Art as a Healing Practice is offered at a 40 % discount just until the end of January. LMHC, LCSW, LMFT can earn 12 CEU's. Use coupon code NEWYEAR2025 at checkout.
Art as a Healing Practice helped me discover a genuine expression of myself. With Kathleen's excellent guidance, we explored, through meditations and our artwork, the deep messages our art offered up to
us. This program helped me navigate through grief and was profoundly healing. ~ Terry
This past week, we have been with our students in the studio! How wonderful it is to be creating and learning together in-person. This week is another intensive - EAFI 210: Foundations of Expressive Arts - and we welcome a new group of students on Tuesday! We
are filled with gratitude and inspiration, and our days are full. By next weekend we will have time to sift through all the amazing jewels from the trainings, and share more with you then!
