In this workshop, we'll weave together the threads of
play therapy, sand therapy and expressive arts therapy into a dynamic intermodal journey that will both nourish you and enliven your work.
Learning Objectives:
- Define intermodal expressive arts therapy as a
unique professional model
- List two characteristics of intermodal work that can integrate well with play therapy and other therapy models.
- Describe two ways that play therapists, LMHC’s, LCSW’s, LMFT’s can invite clients into expressive arts.
- Name two benefits gleaned when play therapists and other therapists encourage to use writing, from the voice of the image itself.
- Explain two implementation strategies for introducing or utilizing expressive arts in therapy.
- List 2 similarities and/or differences between interpreting and witnessing the work of therapy clients
- Name the benefits and possibilities of identifying and following the intermodal thread of creativity, as it expands possibilities in meeting client’s treatment goals.
