Hello
Creative Friend, Â The recent storms have brought so many challenges in Florida, in western North Carolina, and surrounding communities. It requires much energy to focus on recovery, repair, and rest. We are grateful to all of those who have reached out to us and who have offered help to those in need in the affected communities. We were saddened that the storms required us to postpone the training courses that our students were traveling from
all over the world to attend. No matter where you live, you and your families may have been impacted in various ways by the effects of these two hurricanes. We are all in this together.  As creative opportunities to connect, share and heal in community, this week we will hold an online Open Studio on Tuesday and an in-person Open Studio on Friday Each one will be hosted by Kathleen and Tamara. We hope you will join us! We encourage you to use this time to engage your creative spirit in service of healing whatever is needed in
your life, family, and community.  If it is helpful to you, we offer a reminder of the Complimentary Creative Resources we have online HERE.  We encourage you to see your imagination and creativity as a resource, a sanctuary, and a place of comfort. We hope that you will return to it as much and as often as you can. Creating images, moving the body, breathing in new possibilitites that arrive on the waves of imagination help us to process, express, and heal. May you receive the nourishment you need through even the smallest creative acts you take this week.  Here is an image that arrived for Kathleen this week:Â
On October 29th, we'll have both Playback Theater:
Creation in Team and Expressive Arts Discovery! Â The Playback Theater event will be in person, in Sarasota, FL. Led by Olga Sanachina, you'll explore opportunities for collaboration with others and healing acting on stage.
Expressive Arts Discovery will be live online, and is a wonderful time to take a creative pause, connect within and gather with other creatives in a safe and supportive community. All Expressive Arts Discovery workshops have now been scheduled through the end of the year!  On Tuesday, November 12th, we'll have our next SoulCollage® workshop; SoulCollage®: Receiving Counsel from the Council Suit led by Diane Lampitt. In this workshop, Diane will share ideas for
creating Council cards and seeking counsel from them. She will also guide you through a brief visualization to meet a universal, archetypal or mythical energy ready to be explored in your SoulCollage® practice.   The 3rd workshop in the Imagining the Sacred series, "A Breath Away: Prayer as Inspiration and Response" is in November as well and will explore engaging the expressive arts as a form of prayer. We will play with arts as a sacred birthright, a natural way
to be human and connect with the divine.  There are two online Open Studio dates in November.  To see a schedule of all upcoming events,
courses and workshops visit our calendar of events here. Â |
Would you like to share your personal practice images? Our private Facebook group is a sanctuary for witnessing one another. It is not a place to share or promote your professional work; it is a place to share the images the arise from your deepest creative wisdom. (If you are a new member, please be sure to answer the questions and agree to the rules. That helps us to hold a safe and welcoming space.)Â
We hope to see you in the circle soon.  With gratitude, Tamara,
Kathleen & the Expressive Arts Florida Team |
