Creative workshops and events are just around the corner!
Hello
Creative Friend,
This week in Sarasota and many other parts of the southeastern United States brought hurricane winds and rains, destruction and suffering. The coastal areas near us suffered severe damage from storm surge and flooding of waters. We know that other areas such as western North Carolina received devastating amounts of rainfall and flooding as well. We are safe here, but many in our area and maybe yours have
endured the effects of the hurricane that will continue to shape the coming weeks and months as they recover and rebuild. In the wake of the storm, we send our love to you and everyone affected by the storm.
These events are part of our lives, whether they come in the form of natural disasters or other life challenges, we are sometimes faced with adversities that require us to lean into our resources for support and
healing. We hope that you will take some moments or extended time if you can to pour your energy into your art practice as a resource. Share with a friend or loved one, offer yourself the balm of creative expression in the face of challenging circumstances. We offer this poem by John Muir from "Life Prayers" and an image that arrived with these words, "may love ride in on the wind" to you.
This grand show is eternal.
It is always sunrise somewhere:
the dew is never all dried at once:
a shower is forever
falling, vaport is ever rising.
Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming,
on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn,
as the round earth rolls. - John Muir

This Friday we have our 2nd workshop in the Imagining the Sacred series with Renee Bhatia and Tamara; Imagination and Images of God. This workshop will explore images and how they function, including images of God or the
sacred. We will consider different sources of images, and how to uncover and play with images that are operating in ourselves and our directees.
We also have a new SoulCollage® event scheduled as well as a new Playback Theater event!
SoulCollage®: Receiving Counsel from the Council Suit is in November and will be led by Diane Lampitt. In this workshop, Diane will
share ideas for creating Council cards and seeking counsel from them. She will also guide you through a brief visualization to meet a universal, archetypal or mythical energy ready to be explored in your SoulCollage® practice.
The Playback Theater event will be in person, in Sarasota, FL. Led by
Olga Sanachina, you'll explore opportunities for collaboration with others and healing acting on stage.
Expressive Arts Discoverywill be online, and is a wonderful time to take a creative pause, connect within
and gather with other creatives in a safe and supportive community.
Would you like to share your personal practice images? Our private Facebook group is a sanctuary for witnessing one another. It is not a place to share or promote your professional work; it is a place to share the images the arise from your deepest creative wisdom. (If you are a new member, please be sure to answer the questions and agree to the rules. That helps us to hold a safe and welcoming space.)
We hope to see you in the circle soon.
With gratitude,
Tamara, Kathleen & the Expressive Arts Florida Team
