Hello Creative Friend, Last week we announced that 2025 will be the final year of our Certificate Training Program in its current form, and that 2025 will
be my last year of teaching full-time. Your responses have been so supportive and affirming of our work. You touch my heart. I am not retiring; this work is my life path, and that is not something to retire from. Tamara and I are using our expressive arts practice to carefully discern what our individual and collaborative contributions are likely to look like
after 2025. For myself, I am fairly certain that a new focus will be expressive arts and aging, and some training of practitioners will still be part of my ongoing service. If you missed our email last week, you can read it
here, for more details. In the meantime, we have a pathway for you to begin (in either January or April) and complete your Certificate Training Program, in its current form, by early 2026, with Tamara and I as core faculty. If you have been circling around this, now is
definitely the time to begin! Questions? Attend our Dec. 7 info session, or email us. See the 2025 course schedule here. Do you use an expressive arts practice to assist you in making important life decisions or navigating the ups and downs that life throws in your path? We have some free and low cost creative resources that can help. Our brand new complimentary creative resource is 'Meeting Unexpected Change' which we created for you just last week. 'Emerge' is a low-cost self-study to help you listen more deeply to your inner growing edge. And, our annual 'Intention Setting Workshops' (one in person and one online) are wonderful opportunities to listen inward to what you are bringing into form as you move into
2026. I could not be more grateful for the gifts that expressive arts has brought into my life, or, more accurately, the new life that expressive arts has given me. I dove in, heart first, in 1996, in response to nothing more than a tiny ad in a magazine, and a huge leap of faith. Although my mind did not know the term 'expressive arts' at that time, there was a deep longing
that was activated by that ad, and although I didn't understand it, I knew it, in my body and my heart.
Landscape Transforming. Kathleen Horne What is your own longing calling you towards, when you really listen? If it is expressive arts, we invite you to reach out to us. We take great joy in helping others discover and create their path. |
With love and gratitude, Kathleen, Tamara, and the Expressive Arts Florida team
This Tuesday (12/3) is our next Online Open Studio! If you haven't joined us for any of our Open Studios we encourage you to do so. They are a wonderful opportunity to creatively 'be with' whatever emotions you are carrying, and what creative impulses are awakening in you, and to witness one another. They are donation based and a great way to connect with others. You can see the schedule for upcoming Open Studio sessions here. There are both online an in-person options. This Friday (12/6) is our final workshop in the Imagining the Sacred series, "The Spiritual Director: Presence and Role?" Join us and explore your role as spiritual director through the arts, learn how to attend to your practice, and notice how you are growing and changing in response to this work. If you're interested in our Certificate Training Program the next start date is in January, and we'll be having a Live Q&A session on December 7th. In this session we'll cover everything you need to know about the program, including the pathway to help you complete the program by early 2026. As we said above, this is the last year the CTP will be offered in its present form. To close out the year, we also have 1 more Expressive Arts Discovery session on December
12th. These differ from Open Studios in that they are guided workshops. We start with a short guided meditation, move into artmaking, maybe a little movement and then some writing. We close with witnessing and sharing.
Our last SoulCollage® workshop of the year will celebrate the Winter Solstice. This workshop will be in person and will take place after our final In Person Open Studio of the year! Join us for one session or both and give yourself a full day of creative self-care in Sarasota. And last, but definitely not least, we bring you
our annual Intention Setting sessions again this year. The in-person option is on December 19 and the online version is January 2. Registration is open on the website. To see a schedule of all upcoming events, courses and workshops visit our calendar of events here. |
Would you like to share your personal practice images? Our private Facebook group is a sanctuary for witnessing one another. (If you are a new member, please be sure to answer the questions and agree to the rules. That helps us to hold a safe and welcoming space.)
