Dear
Creative Friend, It took us a little longer to write to you this week. So much has happened including back to school, studying, travel, time with family, and continued planning for upcoming events. I (Tamara) want to share with you more about the upcoming Sacred Chaos retreat and my co-facilitator. I met Tanjariitta 24 years ago. She was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Florida. Since then, we’ve been through many seasons of our lives together. Even when geographically separated, our souls remain connected. There aren’t many people in this world who I would jump out of an airplane
with, but she taught me how to let go of the security of the plane and trust myself to fly. Literally. (10 times!) Yes, that's right. As part of my grief process, I jumped out of airplanes with her - she was my skydiving instructor. When I met Tanjariitta she was already a skilled therapist and powerful healer. Very quickly she also became my treasured soul sister. She has extensive experience with adventure therapy and somatic healing, and does not shy away from the depths of experience
this life has to offer. From cold soaks in the frozen pond of her Finnish farm, to the heat of traditional Finnish sauna therapy, she continues to deepen her connection to Earth and integrate healing modalities into her practice and it is an honor to plan the upcoming retreat with her. We dreamed of this over twenty years ago and many adventures later, we are excited to share our combined gifts and passion for healing. Over the years we have had many conversations about chaos and how we navigate it. It's a theme that has always interested us both because even in the most difficult times of our lives, there seems to be order. Even meeting Tanjariitta was by "chance", but it felt like it was "meant to be". Jumping out of airplanes sounds wild and crazy to some, but somehow it made sense. It became safety with her by my side. In all the ways that we have experienced change, we continue to feel there is order. This is why we chose the theme Sacred Chaos.
Tamara and Tanjariitta skydiving in Florida 2003 We both love this quote from one of our favorite teachers Caroline Myss: "Chaos is divine order, versus human order. Change is divine order, versus human order. When the chaos becomes safety to you, then you know you're seeing God clearly.” - Caroline Myss
