Dear Creative Friends, Â This past week, we gathered online for four days with beautiful souls
for Dive In to Expressive Arts. This morning, although tired, I (Kathleen)find myself smiling wide, feeling restored, and filled with hope and gratitude. In the midst of indescribable turmoil in the world, being grounded in hope, love, and beauty, while still being fully present to the pain and despair, is so vitally important. I find myself believing in "the
thread of hope and inner wisdom that runs through the world and through us all", as I wrote in my journal during the course.  The expressive arts, practiced within a safe container, lead us into mystery and deep imaginal space. They are a
doorway into our most profound inner knowing. We learn so much about ourselves, and when we practice in a supportive and trusting community, we learn so much about one another, as well. Expressive Arts is an intimate practice, fostering intimacy with ourselves, and with one another. Meeting one another and interacting in this intimate, imaginative space leads to deep and abiding trust. We become more able  'be with' the full scope of human experience, both within, and outside of,
ourselves. Â
Image by Tamara Teeter Knapp  What a gift it is to hold the space to gather the amazing people who show up, with presence and willingness to dive deep. This dive
requires moving through old beliefs, fears, and resistances. It requires courage, commitment, and trust in a sometimes invisible, intangible process that is working beneath the surface and showing up in images. The rewards of this empowering process are a remembering of what we once knew but may have forgotten or been conditioned out of. And more than remembering, the process also provides us with a pathway forward to effect change in the world.  We are all smiling widely here, in our closing circle this week. The images we created are still simmering with power and mystery, as they continue to reveal their full meaning in our lives. We all learn from one another, welcome our images, and trust in the
process. We offer thanks to our students, mentors, alumni, and to you, our community. Â
What are you working on? You might want to try Hands of Light, our featured self-study course. We always welcome you to share with us in our private Facebook group and we hope to see you in the circle
soon. Â
With gratitude, Kathleen, Tamara, and the Expressive Arts Florida Team
