Dear Creative Friend, This week we played! On Friday, we had Open
Studio in person, which is always nourishing as we sit around the studio tables with art supplies everywhere, colors and creativity flowing. Following our morning session, a group of fifteen were led by Olga Sanachina to play with drama tools of imagination, body, and voice as we learned about Playback Theater. It was so much fun! Touching moments from our past, sharing special memories, and expressing one another's stories connected us and uplifted us all. It was truly a fantastic experience.
It was also a real life example of how PLAY is vital to our lives because it helps us flourish. "Adult play promotes inclusivity, cooperation, creativity, adaptivity, and egalitarianism - all qualities that we humans could use more of."
(Dingfelder, 2024). We laughed, worked together to make machines, expressed emotions, acted out special moments and the inner life of Mary Poppins and more. What a delightfully fun and meaningful experience for everyone there. We will do it again after the summer and we hope you will join us. A big thank you goes out to Olga for bringing this modality to us and sharing her passion and expertise. We look forward to more soon!
In the meantime, we invite you to play this week with some art materials or friends. There is so much richness in not knowing what will happen and discovering something along the way.
If you would like to share in the FB group we look forward to witnessing.
Thank you for being here and for reading our newsletters, for inviting the power of this work to nourish you. We look forward
to hearing from you, or to seeing you in the circle soon. Also, make sure to scroll down to see all upcoming events, our featured self-study
course, and information on our Certificate Training Program! Our next start date is in October.
With gratitude, Tamara, Kathleen, and the Expressive Arts Florida
Team Dingfelder, S. (2024, January). We need play, seriously. National Geographic, 19–22.

This week we don't have any live online or in person events as we are
reflecting over our EAFI 230 Business & Profession of Expressive Arts course we just wrapped up and are planning and preparing for summer. We encourage you to take a look at our self-study courses or reach out to
someone you know (or don't know!) and have an art night (or day!) It's always wonderful to get together with others and can be even better when art-making is involved. |
All Self-Study Courses contain detailed, yet approachable instructions, videos, and meditations facilitated by Kathleen & Tamara. The imagery and guidance from this work can assist
you, whether dipping your toes into expressive arts or seeking a deeper connection. *All courses come with lifetime access so you can refer back to them at any time! *No previous art experience is necessary!
