Dear Creative Friends, This past week, we explored the holistic
nature of Expressive Arts with a delightful group of students from around the world. What a nourishing, enlivening, deeply connecting learning experience this was. We treasure these intensive core courses, and somehow, the most wonderful students show up with full presence, courage, depth, and enthusiasm, and a heartfelt sense of community is created. We are so grateful!
We worked with mandalas, Touch Drawing, nature-witnessing, authentic movement, drama, clay, story, and active witnessing, with each processing building on, enriching, and deepening the one before. This is
really the heart of intermodal expressive arts and the heart of our work.
Some of the words from our opening collaborative poem perhaps convey the essence.
Glimmering and inviting, cellular love. Faced gently with grace, I can fly, I can swim, I can climb. I feel touched, relaxed and happy. Rooted in source, and gratitude. Darkness and light. And moving through space. Just be present with it. Try this:
Position yourself in a room with a bit of space around you, so that you can move freely. Begin standing if that is available to you. Close your eyes or soften your gaze. Tune in to your body and notice any movement impulses. Move, from the inside out, in any way that your body wants to. Movements can be big or small, fast or slow, or even real or imagined. Continue for about 5 minutes or whatever feels right. Open your eyes and go to some art materials. Using any colors make spontaneous marks,
just trusting yourself. Continue for 5 minutes or so. Look at your image. Listen to what it might say to you. Write down what it says. Close your eyes, and tune in to yourself. Ask yourself: how did I experience this 15 minute process in my body? In my heart? In my mind? In my spirit? Just notice, and make some notes. Repeat whenever you feel called to.
Before you read on and see what's coming up, we want to take a moment to offer a big Thank You to everyone who registered for the new Art as a Healing Practice Self Study during January! It is great to know that
many of you are exploring life themes as you work through the lessons, and we wish you a beautiful creative and healing journey! Share in our private FB group if you like and remember our first Zoom call is March 22.
We hope to see you in the circle soon! In gratitude, Kathleen, Tamara and the EAFI Team

This week we are taking some time to integrate all that has happened since the beginning of the year. Starting with our Intention Setting workshops, to the launch of the newest and complete version of Art as a Healing Practice and also the completion of our 1st certificate training course of the year we're relishing in the
new energy and the intentions set while also processing all that has happened and all that we've learned. During this time, we encourage you to take a look at our self-study programs and see if something resonates with you. We also invite you to perhaps reconnect with
someone you haven't spoken to in a while and maybe set up a time to talk or create together. It's so important to nourish ourselves not just creatively, but also in community as well. |
All Self-Study Courses contain detailed, yet approachable instructions, videos, and meditations facilitated by Kathleen & Tamara. The imagery and guidance from this work can assist
you, whether dipping your toes into expressive arts or seeking a deeper connection. *All courses come with lifetime access so you can refer back to them at any time! *No previous art experience is necessary!
