Dear A few of our guiding principles in this work as intermodal expressive arts
facilitators/educators is that the arts belong together and they belong to everyone. Engaging with expressive arts is life-giving and helps us remember and cultivate what is our own creative birthright. Practicing expressive arts brings us into connection with ourselves and our own inner wisdom while also bringing us closer to one another in community. This week, I had the privilege of participating in and facilitating in many different settings with a variety of people with different ages,
backgrounds, and needs ranging from personal transformation and life changes, to overall wellness in aging seniors, to volunteers supporting Hospice patients.
What is remarkable is that expressive arts finds a way to meet everyone engaged with it right where they are. It's like water that finds its way into every crevice as it is poured over a surface - without effort it just flows into where it is needed. Also
like water, it quenches the thirst of a soul longing to be expressed, seen and heard. With gratitude, we thank our partnerships with Diane Lampitt for SoulCollage®, Liz Pascoe-Broome, Empath Hospice,
and Arts for Health Sarasota Manatee which coordinated our presentation at Church of the Palms in the Senior Wellbeing Series.
Here is a blog post written from one of the participants that speaks to how expressive arts
finds a way to support us where we need it most.
On Friday, Liz Pascoe-Broome and I (Tamara) were able to provide training for volunteers who support patients and their families with Full Life Care through our local Hospice program. We explored what is most meaningful to us, what we treasure
most and how we imagine what is best for us. A full life includes embracing your creative spirit and being with one another in times that are joyous as well as sorrowful. Expressive arts is such a gift and we are grateful to share it in so many places with so many people each time we are able to do that. What an honor it is to be with you on the path to a full and authentic life.
Sometimes the simplest process is the best, as Kathleen mentions in her video below. We return, over and over again, to 'in this moment', and we invite you to do the same. The link is here.
Our private FB group has some new
energy happening lately, and we invite you to witness and share if you would like. (If you are new to the group, be sure to fill out the questions and agree to the rules) We hope to see you in the circle soon! In gratitude, Tamara, Kathleen and the EAFI Team

Looking to start your expressive arts training? "As an Expressive Arts Florida Institute (EAFI) graduate, my experience with Kathleen, Tamara, and my fellow EAFI students was nothing short of
transformative, greatly enriching my personal growth and professional skills. The institute's outstanding practitioners, including Registered Expressive Arts Consultants/Educators (REACE) and Therapists (REAT), provided a thorough, hands-on introduction to intermodal expressive arts. This education has been pivotal in elevating my teaching at Barry University's School of Social Work and my community-based advocacy work. It enabled me to effectively connect with and support individuals of diverse
abilities and identities. The training I received has opened new paths for exploration, understanding, and building connections, profoundly influencing my approach to both education and community engagement."
