May the Sacred feminine womb, seed blessing, Honor life cycles. Our Expressive Arts in the World journey continues, with ten heart-centered, committed, skilled, wise, and generous women from around the world in just 7 days. We
take a moment now to honor the sacred feminine present in all of life, in the natural world - both human and beyond. And we offer a bow of gratitude for the teachings we are all receiving and sharing with one another. Last week Fiona Chang, from Hong Kong, shared her powerful Arts as Mirror process, guiding us through a deep intermodal exploration of relationship with self. Yesterday, Chandini Harklalka and Belinda Rego joined us from Bangalore, India, taking us on a tour of tribal arts from around the country, and leading us in a process inspired by the Warli art tradition and infused with the spirit of intermodal expressive arts. Embracing art as ritual, we each created a Warli inspired image, blessed it with a dot of yellow or red powder, and wrote a a blessing which we shared with the group. I think we speak for all of you who were present, when we say we
came away deeply enriched in our spirits, our minds, and our bodies. On Monday, we will be joined by Lillian Obonyo from Kenya, Sarala Tamang from Nepal
and Gloria Simoneaux from the U.S. as the Harambee Arts team guides us with moving stories and experiential practices from their ground-breaking 'train the trainer' model of expressive arts work in the Kibera slum, the Langata womens' prison, and with human trafficking survivors. And, on Tuesday, four more amazing women will share with you their work in Guatemala. Evelyn Ammon, Mayari Hernandez, Pili Garin and Paulina Buonafina will highlight four examples of their emerging work, unique to their
country, in Planting Seeds of Color in Guatemala. We are especially excited to welcome this group, as they are brand new presenters for us, and they have created some wonderful projects. We hope you will join us and immerse yourself in these womens' stories, practices and wisdom. The same spirit of Expressive Arts that calls and inspires
you, flows through so many of us around the world, and each offering is a gift to give and receive, as we come together in community. Take a moment to honor your own experience of the sacred feminine, through the natural world, mentors, animals, and more. If you feel moved to, write or make an image to honor how you notice this force as it moves in your life. |
