Dear When we step
deeply into intermodal process, we are entering liminal space - the space between what was and what is becoming - the space where transformation occurs. We are opening ourselves to leaving the old behind and inviting the new. On Friday we facilitated Expressive Arts Discovery, which was immediately followed by Varvara Sidorova's inspired Expressive Arts in the World workshop, where we created dolls in the Russian Bereginya tradition. These two creative experiences built upon each other, and took me into an unexpected and just-right space for something new to occur. I made the mandala in the Expressive Arts Discovery workshop, and the doll in
Varvara's workshop. From outside of my thinking mind, which was quite busy, came these gifts of healing, as the images and writings from each workshop found a way to join together, with a powerful synergy, and an invitation to fresh possibility.
I am your guardian, emerging from the forest, where I live. I know that pathways - once
invisible- can be illuminated. I carry a feather, with which I sweep away the debris, making space for the light. Take me into your heart ,and together, we will clear the way. Kathleen This week, we have 3 beautiful opportunities for you. On Monday, Natalie Robelot-Timtchenko, whose home is the Ukraine, brings you Compassionate Care in Times of War. On Tuesday, Susan O'Connell, a dear friend and colleague and a first-time presenter for us invites you into a nature-based poetic medicine circle in Earth as Sanctuary and Portal to the Heart, and on Friday
Tamara joins with Renee Bhatia, EAFI graduate mentor and spiritual director, in Deep Calls to Deep: Exploring Expressive Arts and Spiritual Direction. Each of these workshops will offer you unique and heartfelt opportunities to enter liminal spaces in your lives, and receive healing and transformative gifts through expressive arts practice. Tomorrow, watch your inbox for our October Alumni Spotlight! This month, we are featuring Brandy King!
