Dear Creatives, Can you believe July is coming to a close and August is right around the corner? We have really been enjoying this summer, with vacations, time spent with friends and family, and time spent with others in the expressive arts community at the IEATA conference. However, we are really looking
forward to getting back into the swing of things and August is a busy month!

The following week we will be welcoming our Certificate Training Program students into their next class, EAFI 220: Expressive Arts in the World. We are thrilled for them to experience this course and learn how expressive arts is being used in different contexts all over the world. We truly feel blessed to have such a global expressive arts community and are so
excited to showcase many of the leaders in the field and their work. As a reminder, the workshops within the course are open to everyone and we hope you consider joining us for one or more. We will also be offering our Online Open Studio again next week on August 8th! This is a perfect time to relax, reflect, connect with others and share in creative community. |
As always, we are extremely grateful for you all and this community and hope to see you all in the circle soon. With gratitude, The Expressive Arts

What's happening this week? |
In this workshop we will explore integrative, expressive art making as a pathway of 'direct revelation,' spiritual awakening, and accessing the Universal Life-flow within us all. The goal of this workshop is to provide participants
with an opportunity to step into the imaginal realms, release preconceived notions of who or what they are, and consider their unique inner, creative, landscapes as personalized playgrounds for divine connection and spiritual transformation. Learn more about Terra in her Alumni

In this workshop with H. Fay Wilkinson of Canada, you’ll look at the how, the why and the power of gathering stories using intermodal shifts. You'll see examples of digital stories Fay has created with and for clients called Stories in Motion. You will then have the opportunity to explore and experiment with at least two intermodal storytelling invitations. This is a playful, yet meaningful approach. The experience may inspire you to offer storycatching to the people
you work with. There will be ample time for questions and the sharing of ideas. Fay is registered with IEATA
and has an Expressive Arts Practice in rural Ontario, Canada. She has been working in the field for over 30 years both online and in person and her clients include Mental Health Services and the Abbey Retreat Centre working with people living with cancer. SAVE the DATE! Registration for the following workshops will open soon. In this poetry
circle, we will engage poetic medicine as a means of encouraging our hearts to open more fully in our daily lives. Together, we will create a poetic sanctuary within the community. This integrated poetic medicine process encourages our innate ways of knowing such as our imagination, intuition, and an embodied mode of participation. We will read, listen, and be invited to respond to the poetry of the earth. The poetic invitations aim to encourage remembrance, deep listening, self-awareness,
compassion, and gratitude. Cultivating these qualities benefits us and the world around us as they encourage generative acts of reciprocity. As our hearts open, we expand our recognition of being woven within the human and other than human world. This can offer healing and a sense of belonging even as it kindles the fires of love. We begin to hear and respond to voices of earth, and the heart songs that call us. This workshop will engage spiritual directors in an expressive arts process to deepen their understanding of
their role as spiritual director. Through guided meditation, artmaking, movement, and sound exploration, we will explore and play with the ways the expressive arts bring us into a deepening relationship with Mystery. Renee is a graduate of EAFI
and a Spiritual Director. Learn more about her in our July Alumni Spotlight! |
