All the arts arise from the same creative wellspring, and the creative flow is present in all of life – in every human, as well as every aspect of nature. Expressive Arts is a pathway to reconnect with the creative
life force that is the birthright of all, and share it with others. The world is ripe for the transformational wisdom of this practice. Step in to your best self, and help others do the same.
Dear Creative One, Kathleen just returned from five weeks in Guatemala. The
photo above was taken on the last evening of her trip, when she had the wonderful opportunity to gather with four EXA professionals for dinner, conversation, and collaborative art-making. Stay tuned, as Kathleen will be sharing more with you soon. The arts lift us up, connect us, provide pathways that transcend difference while honoring individuality. EAFI is growing! We have some new additions to our team, and some new milestones achieved, and will be sharing some announcements about that next week! Today we want to tell you about EAFI 110 - Intermodal Expressive Arts Intensive (Dive-In) because it is coming right up and we don't want you to miss the opportunity. It was the first course we designed and taught. We love it, and so do our students. Why? It is not only a creative gift to yourself, it is a pathway to fully understanding what 'intermodal expressive arts' is really all about. In this course, you are carefully and gently led from one modality to the next, and, along the way, your own creative thread becomes visible to you. As you travel more deeply into yourself, you connect more deeply with others. The arts are the pathway to this connection. Once you experience what often seems like the 'magic' of this process, your relationship with your creativity is transformed! Here is what EAFI graduate and colleague Heidi has to say: “This course not only provides an introduction to the power of intermodal expressive arts but also significantly enhances students’ creativity, self-awareness, and well-being. The training is exceptional, and the instructors are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable.

This core course, which we have come to call Dive-In to Expressive Arts – is just that – a deep dive into intermodal expressive arts and a gift to yourself. The
essence of expressive arts is the way it weaves different modalities together – visual art-making, rhythm, movement, poetry, sound, drama, journaling, and more. It is, essentially, a process of remembering something that was likely once natural. By becoming fluent in intermodal process we deepen our own holistic practice and become attuned to how to work with others. (This glorious photo is Susan Paul
