New Workshops Coming Up in June!
Registration is now open for these brand new online workshops
offered by EAFI Alumni and Mentors.
We know you will love our alumni community as much as we do!
This month, Sunny Stewart, Susan Paul Johnson
and
Jo-Ann Dellaposta are your workshop facilitators.
.
Sacred Tree offers you an opportunity to explore the nature of trees through a creative cycle of expression. You are
invited to journey through poetry, guided visualization, visual art making, and writing as a means of connecting with and embodying the natural element of trees.
This workshop is intended to foster a sense of interconnection and belonging in the natural world which supports our personal and communal well-being. Sunny’s workshops often explore the nature of being human and being a human in
nature.
No art skills or expressive art experience is necessary.
Circles can be surprising! Ever been curious how to deepen your expressive arts work through creating mandalas?
Using different prompts and intermodal processes, Susan will guide you through creating intuitive mandalas and working with them to find depth of meaning.
Creating in circular form can allow us to tap into our deepest intuitive selves in a place of safety and nurturing. In this workshop, we will create mandalas and consider different ways of deepening their meaning –
from journaling to interpreting motifs and symbols we use personally. We will add movement as a way to experience our mandalas and enhance our own understanding of what may lie within.
Susan will also give suggestions for using mandalas in your facilitation work with others.
Through guided meditation, and an integration of Reiki,
sound energy and expressive art modalities, an emphasis is placed on opening and balancing the 3rd Chakra.
Participants will:
Release the blocks that stop you from experiencing your uniqueness Keep the energy
moving to utilize your personal power and strength Feel confident and capable to be your individual, authentic self Learn the steps necessary to keep this energy center clear and thriving Simulate your learning through the various expressive art modalities, making your experience real and concrete
The arts help us to make sense of our lives, a way we express feelings when we have no words, a way for us to understand things with our hearts when we can’t comprehend with our minds.
In these uncertain and distressed times, the skills that we can bring as expressive arts practitioners become even more important in helping to guide ourselves and others through difficult emotions. It is also essential that communities come together for support and to intensify the resonance of hope against fear and love against hate. This workshop will be a time to reflect on the inner and outer landscapes with a focus on how expressive
arts can address individual and collective trauma through a lens of inter and intra- personal neurobiology. Through guided exercises that use breath, sound, rhythmic drumming, movement and image making we will explore how a re-alignment with personal and transpersonal rhythms can help to facilitate a sense of psychospiritual unity and begin a process of healing.
