Dear Creative One, We are writing to you from Muncey, Ontario, Canada, where we have just completed a 3-day training with the
staff at Nimkee Nupigawagan Healing Centre. This is a jewel of a program, with this mission: With respect, humility, and compassion, NNHC is committed to empowering indigenous youth, families and communities
through culturally based holistic treatment and recovery services. The staff is building a program that integrates expressive arts and land-based practices into their indigenous healing model, and have contracted with us for expressive arts training. This is our first visit to the centre,
and we are in awe. We can only imagine the love, care, commitment, and wisdom that indigenous youth, struggling with addiction, will be met with, when they arrive here to embark on a healing journey. We have been welcomed into this community with love, hospitality, generosity, and open-heartedness. The spirit of reciprocity has been present during our time here. From these wise teachers we are learning about the Medicine
Wheel and Seven Grandfather Teachings, while they learn expressive arts principles and practices from us. We are deeply grateful for the experience, and for the gifts that are arising from sitting together in circle. With love, and deep respect for this work, in all its forms, and across all cultures, Tamara and Kathleen Our Expressive Arts in the World workshop series, coming up in August and September, will be open for registration soon. Whether you are a student in our Certificate Training Program, an expressive arts facilitator or therapist, these training workshops will
