Ten beautiful people joined us online this past week for Dive In to Expressive Arts Intermodal Intensive. Here are some examples of the life-sized visual art in process. It was a deep, rich, heartfelt experience that touched us all in
profound ways. We are filled with gratitude, and bathed in the images, writings, sounds, and rhythms that simmer and resonate from our 25 hours together. The images reveal a wisdom than we carry within us, and they guide us into new possibilities for ourselves. It was amazing to witness the wisdom that arrived from a simple opening process of 'Choose a Thread'. Try it yourself: - Choose a random thread, string, or piece of yarn.
- Spend a couple of minutes attending to it closing, noticing all of its
properties.
- Consider how your thread is like you or you are like it.
- Ask: what is the message or lesson that my thread is giving me today? Write that down.
Expressive Arts can be delightfully simple
sometimes. Whether you want to begin a new career, or simply discover some practices that enhance your creative life, we invite you to discover the 'just right' choice! For our Sarasota-area friends, we have scheduled our next in-person workshop - The Wisdom of Nature - on Friday April 21. You can come in the morning for Open Studio (10-1), bring your lunch, and stay for the afternoon
workshop (2-5 pm). Did you see our first Alumni Spotlight yesterday, featuring Jo-Ann Dellaposta? If you missed it, you will find it here. By spotlighting one of our graduates each month, our goal is not only to promote their work but to foster a wider understanding of expressive arts and how/where/why it is practiced. We see this work as a wisdom path that intersects beautifully
