Tales of Transitions in a Woman's Life
Tuesdays 1-3pm
January 29th thru March 17th
10 am -4pm
What’s your favorite fairy tale? Are fairy tales for children, or adults? What can we learn about ourselves through fairy tales? In week 1 we consider the history of fairy tales and various perspectives, approaches, and interpretations of their significance. We will then begin our study with the tale of Hansel and Gretel. Each week we will explore a different fairy tale and, through our own
writing, we will explore its relevance to our own lives. As we do, we will consider the seasons of a woman’s life.
Please register by January 22nd.
The Complete Grimms Fairy Tales by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm is available at most bookstores, and is available from Amazon in book form, or on Kindle. (Did you know that you can download Kindle for PC at no charge?) Other editions will do as well, but please do ensure they are the Grimms version.
However, the cheapest and perhaps easiest way to access the tales, and a way to ensure that “we are all on the same page” is to read the tales online at http://www.literaturepage.com/read/grimms-fairy-tales.html It’s free!
