The Apothecary class is a deep dive into your life story-ies. You will look at how you may have been unaware of a trauma, a tragedy in your life that is holding you back, holding you captive, preventing you from moving forward to inhabit the dreams and plans you have for your life. Once you move that story into the light of consciousness you can begin to discover patterns of behavior and life metaphors that influence
beliefs and biases in your life. Once you discover these often hidden influences you have a choice about whether you are going to allow them to rule your life. You can choose freedom from limiting beliefs and that is where the liberating work of Apothecary begins.
Using metacognitive drawing, guided meditation, journaling and acrylic painting, you will take these limiting beliefs and “alchemize” them into healing medicines, antidotes stored in an Apothecary you can draw upon to heal your story and to help others heal theirs. You will create “containers” to hold the transformed ”healing essences” of the once limiting tragedy and place them in a special place where they can be
retrieved when needed. Step by step you will be guided in this process by a skilled Apothecarian, Donna Papenhausen, who has taken this healing journey multiple times under the guidance of Shiloh Sophia and Jonathan McCloud and who offers this medicine to you from her own Apothecary.
As you can see, Apothecary is more then a painting class. It is a journey towards healing, wholeness and transformation of body, mind and spirit!
No prior painting experience needed
Donna has had a varied career as an Art Teacher, Ordained Minister, Expressive Arts Facilitator and Intentional Creativity Teacher and Coach. Donna holds a B.A. in Art Education from Westminster College, an MDiv from Yale Divinity School, a Certificate in Intermodal Expressive Arts from Expressive Arts Florida Institute, and a Certificate from The Color of Woman School. She brings a love of creativity, teaching and
self-expression to her work. Her fondest wish is to see others awaken to their Deep Wisdom.
