If you want to improve your mind, one of the best ways is to train yourself to be more creative. Creativity is a valuable skill for everyone. What are the best ways to expand creativity? It turns out that two great ways are through the use of meditation and yoga.
Registration Deadline: 7 days prior to workshop date. If minimum enrollment is not met, workshop may be canceled. Please register by April 26thh if possible.
- Meditation and Yoga put you in the Alpha brain state – a very calm, relaxed, open state of mind.
- From this state, you go to the art studio and create work using fluid materials to help promote the creative process. The artwork will be intentionally loose, abstract, open-minded, free-form, and without limitations.
- Over the 4 hours, go back and forth between meditation, yoga, and art – a very fluid process, with one flowing directly into the next.
- Expect a seamless, gentle, and relaxing process; a tranquil, creative afternoon of exploring and expanding your creativity in a reassuring setting.
- At the end of the afternoon, write about your experience and s in a non-judging way.
- Handouts will be provided so you can continue to practice these skills at home. You will also receive a handout outlining Five Psychological Exercises for Creativity, which will give you five everyday exercises for increasing creativity.
No experience is needed for any of the methods we will practice.
Judy says of this process:
Yoga and Meditation, and Expressive Arts have become a “way of life” for me. I highly recommend all of these to my family, friends, students, and everyone I meet. The three processes all complement each other, and I truly feel they have led me to become more creative, more aware, and happier in my everyday life.
